ACT NO. 1238 - AN ACT APPROPRIATING THE FUND DERIVED FROM THE SALE OF THE BONDS AUTHORIZED BY ACT NO. 1034, FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE SO-CALLED FRIAR LANDS, AND FOR THE PAYMENT OF EXPENSES INCIDENTAL THERETO
 
By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:

Section 1. All funds derived from the sale of the bonds issued by the Secretary of War in the name and on behalf of the Government of the Philippine Islands, under the authority contained in Sec. 1 of Act No. 1034, are hereby appropriated for the purposes set forth in said Act, and for the payment of all expenses incidental to the purchase and transfer of the so-called friar lands, including the cost of resurveys, and any attorney's fees in the excess of the amount appropriated by Act No. 1120. The funds appropriated by this Act shall be disbursed by and under the direction of the Civil Governor, upon resolutions of the Philippine Commission.

Sec. 2. The public good requiring the speed enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with Sec. 630 of an "Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of Laws," passed September 26, 1900.

Sec. 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
