PRESIDENTIAL DECREE No. 730 June 5, 1975

GRANTING PERMANENT RESIDENCE TO CERTAIN ALIEN NON-IMMIGRANTS

WHEREAS, there is a substantial number of aliens in the Philippines who came to this country as non-immigrants, including overstaying Chinese nationals, many of whom have already married and borne families in the Philippines;

WHEREAS, although Presidential Decree No. 419 allows such non-immigrant aliens to acquire permanent residence in the Philippines without the necessity of obtaining the required visas abroad under paragraph 2, section 9, of the present Immigration Act, they are still required by said Decree to apply for immigrant visas with the Commission on Immigration and Deportation;

WHEREAS, a number of such aliens have already been screened by the National Intelligence Security Authority of the Philippines; and

WHEREAS, there is need, for humanitarian consideration, to grant such aliens permanent residence in the Philippines;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitutions, do hereby decree and order that the following aliens who are now in the Philippines as non-immigrants, and who have already been screened and found qualified for permanent residence in the Philippines by the National Intelligence Security Authority are, by this Decree, hereby granted permanent residence in the Philippines, to wit: (See list)

This Decree shall take effect immediately.

Done in the City of Manila, this 5th day of June, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-five.
