REPUBLIC ACT NO. 1969 - AN
ACT TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL JUDGES FOR THE ELEVENTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT,
ONE TO PRESIDE OVER THE COURT OF FIRST INSTANCE OF ROMBLON, AND THE
OTHER TO PRESIDE OVER THE COURT OF FIRST INSTANCE OF THE PROVINCE OF
AKLAN, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTION FORTY-NINE, FIFTY AND FIFTY-TWO
OF THE JUDICIARY ACT OF 1948, AS AMENDED |
Section
1. The twelfth paragraph of section forty-nine of
Republic Act Numbered Two hundred ninety-six, otherwise known as "The
Judiciary Act of 1948," as amended, is further amended to read as
follows: "The Eleventh Judicial District,
of the provinces of Capiz, Aklan, Romblon and Iloilo, the City of
Iloilo, and the Province of Antique;" Sec. 2. The eleventh paragraph of section fifty of the same Act, as amended, is further amended to read as follows: "Ten judges shall be commissioned
for the Eleventh Judicial District. Two judges shall preside over the
Courts of First Instance of Capiz and Roxas City and shall be known as
judges of the first and second branches thereof, respectively; one
judge shall preside over the Court of First Instance of the Province of
Romblon; one judge shall preside over the Court of First Instance of
the Province of Aklan; five judges shall preside over the Courts of
First Instance of the Province of Iloilo and the City of Iloilo, and
shall be known as judges of the first, second, third, fourth and fifth
branches thereof, respectively; and one judge shall preside over the
Court of First Instance of the Province of Antique." Sec. 3. The twelfth paragraph of section fifty-two of the same Act, as amended, is further amended to read as follows: "For the Eleventh Judicial
District, two judges shall be stationed in Roxas City; one judge, in
the Municipality of Romblon, Romblon; one judge, in the Municipality of
Kalibo, Province of Aklan; one judge, in the City of Iloilo; one judge,
in the Municipality of Guimbal, Province of Iloilo; one judge, in the
Municipality of Santa Barbara, same province; one judge, in the
Municipality of Pototan, same province, and one judge, in the
Municipality of Ajuy, also of the same province; and one judge, in the
Municipality of San Jose de Buenavista, Province of Antique." Sec. 4. There is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, such sums as may be necessary to carry out the purpose of this Act. Sec. 5.
