REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5353
REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5353 - AN ACT STANDARDIZING SALARIES OF CERTAIN OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF MANILA AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

Section 1. The provisions of the Revised Charter of the City of Manila, as amended, to the contrary notwithstanding, the following officials of the City of Manila shall receive the annual compensation as fixed hereunder:

Mayor P36,000.00

Vice-Mayor 30,000.00

Twenty Councilors 26,000.00 each

City Engineer 24,000.00

City Treasurer 24,000.00

City Assessor 24,000.00

City Health Officer 24,000.00

City Auditor 24,000.00

City Public Service Officer 24,000.00

Chief of Police 24,000.00

Chief, Manila Fire Department 24,000.00

Superintendent of City Schools
including the National share
of P7,200 24,000.00

Chairman, Veterinary Inspection Board 24,000.00

Social Welfare Officer 24,000.00

Secretary to the Mayor 24,000.00

Secretary to the Board 22,000.00

One Assistant Secretary and
Administrative Officer of the Board 20,000.00

Assistant City Engineer 22,000.00

Assistant City Treasurer 22,000.00

Assistant City Assessor 22,000.00

Assistant City Health Officer 22,000.00

Assistant City Auditor 22,000.00

Assistant City Public Service Officer 22,000.00

Deputy Chief of Police 22,000.00

Chief Detective Bureau 22,000.00

Deputy Chief, Fire Department 22,000.00

Three Members, Veterinary
Inspection Board 22,000.00 each

Two Assistant Superintendents of
City Schools 22,000.00 each

Two Assistant Secretaries to
the Mayor 22,000.00 each

One Legislative Liaison Officer
to the Mayor 18,000.00

Sec. 2. The officials hereinabove mentioned shall receive commutable representation allowance to be determined by the Municipal Board and as approved by the Mayor.

Sec. 3. The incumbent officials holding the positions affected by this Act shall receive the salary increases upon the effectivity thereof without the necessity of new appointments.

Sec. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
