REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6090

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6090 - AN ACT FIXING THE MAXIMUM COMPENSATION OF MUNICIPAL VICE-MAYORS AND COUNCILORS

Section 1. In lieu of per diems, the municipal council may grant to each Vice-Mayor and councilor an annual salary not to exceed the following: Class of Municipality Salary per annum First Class – 1 P4,800.00 First Class – 2 4,500.00 First Class – 3 4,200.00 First Class – 4 3,900.00 First Class – 5 3,600.00 First Class – 6 3,300.00 Second Class 3,000.00 Third Class 2,400.00 Sec. 2. Municipalities of the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh classes shall not be covered by the provisions of this Act: provided, however, that the Municipal Councils of the municipalities belonging to these classes may grant to each Vice-Mayor and Councilor a per diem not exceeding fifteen pesos for every day of regular or special session of the Council actually attended by them: provided, finally, that no per diem may be granted for more than two special sessions a month. Sec. 3. All Acts, executive orders and administrative orders, or parts thereof, which are inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed. Sec. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
