REPUBLIC ACT NO. 11287 - AN ACT INCREASING THE BED CAPACITY OF THE AMANG RODRIGUEZ MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER IN THE CITY OF MARIKINA FROM THREE HUNDRED (300) TO FIVE HUNDRED (500) BEDS, UPGRADING THE SERVICE FACILITIES AND PROFESSIONAL HEALTH CARE THEREIN, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 11287, April 12, 2019

AN ACT INCREASING THE BED CAPACITY OF THE AMANG RODRIGUEZ MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER IN THE CITY OF MARIKINA FROM THREE HUNDRED (300) TO FIVE HUNDRED (500) BEDS, UPGRADING THE SERVICE FACILITIES AND PROFESSIONAL HEALTH CARE THEREIN, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The authorized bed capacity of the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center (ARMMC) in the City of Marikina is hereby increased from three hundred (300) to five hundred (500) beds.

Sec. 2. The existing hospital facilities and professional health care services of the ARMMC are also hereby upgraded and increased to conform with and be commensurate to the increase in bed capacity.

Sec. 3. Upon prior consultation with the ARMMC, the Department of Health shall, in coordination with the Department of Budget and Management and the Civil Service Commission, determine the additional plantilla positions to be created and filled up in the workplace of the ARMMC.

Sec. 4. The increase in the bed capacity of the ARMMC from three hundred (300) to five hundred (500) beds and the upgrading of its facilities as provided for under Sections 1 and 2 of this Act shall be implemented consistent with the five (5)-year development plan of the hospital.

Sec. 5. The Secretary of Health shall immediately include in the Department's programs the implementation of this Act, the funding of which shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

Sec. 6. If any provision or part of this Act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.

Sec. 7. Republic Act No. 7209, as amended by Republic Act No. 9419, is hereby further amended. All other laws, decrees, orders, issuances, rules and regulations, or parts thereof which are inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed, amended or modified accordingly.

Sec. 8. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act was passed by the Senate of the Philippines as Senate Bill No. 1968 on February 4, 2019 and adopted by the House of Representatives as an amendment to House Bill No. 7065 on February 7, 2019.
