REPUBLIC ACT NO. 11298 - AN ACT INCREASING THE BED CAPACITY OF THE MASBATE PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL IN MASBATE CITY, PROVINCE OF MASBATE, FROM ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE (125) TO TWO HUNDRED (200) BEDS, UPGRADING ITS SERVICES AND FACILITIES, AUTHORIZING THE INCREASE OF ITS MEDICAL PERSONNEL AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

AN ACT INCREASING THE BED CAPACITY OF THE MASBATE PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL IN MASBATE CITY, PROVINCE OF MASBATE, FROM ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE (125) TO TWO HUNDRED (200) BEDS, UPGRADING ITS SERVICES AND FACILITIES, AUTHORIZING THE INCREASE OF ITS MEDICAL PERSONNEL AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1. The authorized bed capacity of the Masbate Provincial Hospital in Masbate City, Province of Masbate is hereby increased from one hundred twenty-five (125) to two hundred (200) beds: Provided, That the hospital shall comply with the licensing requirements of the Department of Health (DOH). The increase in the bed capacity of the Masbate Provincial Hospital shall be implemented consistent with the hospital's development plan.
Sec. 2. The Provincial Government of Masbate shall provide the necessary funds for the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses of the Masbate Provincial Hospital. It shall also appropriate funds for human resources complement to support the increase in bed capacity and the corresponding upgrading of its service facilities and professional health care services. The Secretary of Health shall include in the Department's subsidy program, support for the capital outlay of the provincial hospital.
Sec. 3.The head of the Masbate Provincial Hospital, in coordination with the Provincial Government of Masbate, shall determine the additional positions to be created and filled up corresponding to the increase in bed capacity of the hospital.
Sec. 4. If any provision or part of this Act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.
Sec. 5. All other laws, decrees, orders, issuances, rules and regulations, or parts thereof which are inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repelaed, amended or modified accordingly.
Sec. 6. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was passed by the House of Representatives on October 8, 2018, amended by the Senate of the Philippines on February 6, 2019, and which amendments were concurred in by the House of Representatives on February 7, 2019.
